Blanchard and Calhoun Real Estate had another successful year of providing the CSRA with real estate, mortgage, and insurance services despite the many obstacles of 2020- and let’s face it, this year has brought its share of challenges. Businesses have had to adapt to new procedures and create new strategies due to COVID-19, and the real estate market was no exception. With strategic planning and strong relationships, we were able to find innovative ways to cater to our clients while conducting business seamlessly. Here is a recap of our 2020:
Awards & Recognition
Because of the challenges and bumps in the road due to COVID, awards were especially meaningful this year. Our team of staff and agents worked hard to achieve another successful year despite the pandemic, and our efforts certainly paid off. While we pride ourselves in always putting our best foot forward, it means so much more when our community notices it too.
This year, Blanchard and Calhoun Real Estate received the Large Business of the Year award from the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. And both Blanchard and Calhoun Real Estate and Augusta Mortgage earned the Young Professional of Augusta Choice Award. This means, out of thousands of votes from the Augusta Community, our locals chose us as best in their field!
Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance won the Cyber City Best of 2020 and the 2020 SMC Stellar Award. Additionally, they were awarded The Best Practices Top Performer and earned an additional designation as the highest performing agency in its revenue category.

Business Growth
While this year has been unique in many ways, we continue to add more staff and agents to our family.
This year, Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance merged with Norton Insurance Agency to become one of the nation’s top 100 insurance agencies. The combined agencies have offices in Augusta, Gainesville, Oakwood, Alpharetta, Woodstock, Jasper, Winder, Cleveland, Clarksville, Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Atlanta, Tucker, Kennesaw, Anderson SC, Aiken SC, and Charlotte, NC.
Community Engagement
This has certainly been the year to band together and help our community. We’ve teamed up with local and non-profit organizations such as United Way, Children’s Hospital of Georgia, The Golden Harvest Food Bank, The Salvation Army, and other businesses to serve as a trusted resource to locals in need.
Company Gatherings
As to be expected, this year was a little different with gatherings. Instead of combining office parties, each department celebrated holidays separately. The small groups were fun, but we sure did miss the fellowship of all of our Blanchard and Calhoun family.
B&C Family
At Blanchard and Calhoun, our staff and agents are family. Which means we’ve laughed together, and we’ve cried together. We used our best efforts to stay safe by social distancing through the pandemic, by wearing masks, sanitizing, and following CDC guidelines. Unfortunately, some of our B&C family lost loved ones due to COVID, and together we have mourned their loss.
What a roller coaster ride 2020 has been! Despite all of the challenges this year has brought, we remain thankful. Most of all, we are truly grateful to be a part of this community and for the opportunity to work with so many of you.
