Order In: Skip cooking this Labor Day (unless you just really enjoy cooking) and let your preferred delivery service pick up something from your favorite restaurant and bring it straight to you.

Yard Games: Play a game with family and friends. Take advantage of the last days of summer with some of these classic lawn games!

* Places to play Disc Golf: Lake Olmstead; Fort Gordon; Wildwood Park; Pendleton King Park

Lounge Poolside: It’s not too late to get to swimming! You can still combat the heat by taking a dip in a nice cool pool.

Spa Day: Pamper yourself by creating a spa-like atmosphere. Use fragrant candles or an oil diffuser for an aromatherapy relaxing ambiance. Or, let a professional pamper you! Visit one of our local spas for some real relaxation.

Enjoy a day at the Lake. Bring your loved ones for a fun day at the lake and don’t forget the sunscreen!

Did You Know: The labor movement created Labor Day in the late 1800s. The idea of having a holiday to pay respects to workers spread quickly, and many states followed suit. In 1887 Oregon, according to Britannica, was the first to make the holiday official, then Colorado, New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey established the holiday on the first Monday in September. As other states followed, Labor Day became a Federal Holiday in 1984. Today, we still celebrate Labor Day by honoring and recognizing workers for their contributions to society
