The Beman Group of Blanchard and Calhoun Commercial Division has brokered the purchase of the former Georgia Power branch building at 1607 Walton Way, which now houses Security Federal Bank’s First branch in Augusta’s city limits, and their 17th branch total. This will be one of two new locations they plan to open to serve the Augusta community. When going through the site selection process, the 1607 Walton Way location was a perfect choice considering the existing structure of the building, which already included drive through teller windows on the exterior and teller walk up desks in the interior. This allowed Security Federal to focus giving the building itself the much needed aesthetic improvements that allowed high visibility from their frontage
