Locals generally pronounce the name of this unincorporated suburb by placing the most emphasis on the final syllable (Mar'-tuhn-EZ), despite the town being named after it's original founder Jose Martinez. Martinez location is just in Columbia County. West Lake country club and gated community is located in Martinez Georgia Real Estate area. The housing for the area is stable and the schools are considered the best in the area. Stevens Creek elementary and Lakeside High School are rated some of the best in the State of Georgia.
